Under the leadership of Supervisor Frank P. Petrone, the Town of Huntington has undertaken numerous initiatives and programs that have restored the Town's fiscal health; protected the environment; spurred economic and job growth; created hundreds of units of affordable housing; and enhanced the Town's overall quality of life.

Under the thirteen-year-leadership of Town Supervisor Frank P. Petrone, the Town of Huntington has experienced a complete fiscal recovery and the successful restoration of an outstanding quality of life for the Town's approximately 200,000 residents.  Supervisor Petrone's vision and commitment has led to the preservation of hundreds of acres of environmentally-sensitive lands and widespread upgrades and enhancements to parks, beaches, ballfields, and other recreational facilities.

A leading proponent of affordable housing, Supervisor Petrone has led efforts to create hundreds of units of affordable housing for working families and senior citizens.  In 2004, the Supervisor was appointed by Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy to serve on the county's Workforce Housing Commission.

The Supervisor holds two Master's Degrees, an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Denver, and a M.P.A. in Public Administration/Policy from Long Island University.  In addition, he holds a B.S. from SUNY Albany, an A.A.S. from Staten Island Community College, and an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Five Towns College.


In addition to his duties as Supervisor, Mr. Petrone serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Program in Health Care and Public Administration at Long Island University and is a member of the State University of New York at Stony Brook Council.


The Supervisor has two grown children.  He and his wife, Patricia, reside in Melville.
